My first year of University will soon be over and a part of me is like…

and the other half of me is like…

Looking back I am so glad I choose to go to university and although I did not go to my first choice university, I am really happy being at Bristol. It is far enough away from home that I am forced to be independent but it is close enough that I can jump on  a train and be home in half an hour. I have also met so many lovely people this year which is incredible, before starting University I was extremely anxious that I would not make any friends or fit in, but I did and as cliche as it sounds ‘everyone is in the same situation so it is okay. I feel like I have gained friends for life through Natalie, Jack, Ella who are my flatmates, I can completely be myself around them which is the best feeling, with acceptance, comes happiness.

Me and little one again… (right again)
In January I moved (with my 506 gang) into a house of 12 people…so the six of us gained 6 new people. They are all so lovely and here are two of the newbies Ella (second) and Fern (forth). (I am on the left)

Each of those pictures warms my heart and makes me realise how much I change my hair style and colour. As I mentioned earlier, I am so so happy I decided to come to University because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have created such amazing memories and friends.

So back to my course…

Next year I get to choose which modules I study on my undergraduate degree  (English Literature with writing) and I do not what to chose. On Wednesday I am going to a module fair, which should help me decide out of these things…

I will have to take the following compulsory modules:

  • Forms of Reading/Reading Forms
  • Occasions for Writing

Plus two of the following optional modules:

  • Shakespeare’s World of Words
  • Exploring the Eighteenth Century
  • Romanticism Unbound
  • Victorian Frictions
  • British Writing – 1900 – 1950
  • Imagining America

  1. College is so much fun! I miss college, and I still think I may go back for graduate school. It looks like you’re having a great time. College is such a cool learning experience. 🙂

  2. Yeah I’m going through a similar phase right now . So many decisions to make . I feel like running away sometimes 😀 but I have to make these decisions no matter what .

  3. Oh, good luck, seems like good fun. I also study now, computer science. Thank you for checking out my blog. Let me know what you think! A lot of second hand and sustainability, I also have my own music, check Sadness Theory on Spotify.

  4. Uni has been the most amazing time for me! I’m almost a little sad to be done.
About decisions: We once had this small question the whole class needed to answer: “When are you an adult?” I had no idea what to answer, so I asked my friend about his answer, and he said: “When you can make a decision without panicking.” I think this suits your blog post quite well xD
