I have missed doing these, I love them!!
BackTo School Freebie-anything “back to school”
I decided to interpret this weeks meme as books that touched me throughout my school life, from primary school to college. The is all over the place and in no order, I just adore all of these books.
-
Matilda by Roald Dahl, this book is the epitome of my childhood. As you may know, I recently had to read this again for University and I fell in love with it all over again.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is soo important and should be given to children and young adults because it contains critical information. This book is written in a non linear diary format, telling the story of Melinda Sordino whose life was completely destroyed after calling the police for help at a party. While, she longed for answers as to what happened to her, her ‘friends’ turn against her for bursting the party. This book really touched me and open my mind to acceptance.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. AHHH, THIS BOOK!!!! The reason this book is in this list, is because my favourite english teacher or all time reccommeded this to me and it will always be in my heart forever.
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This book, like Matilda is the epitome of my childhood.
Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling, this is surely on everyones list. Its magical and wonderful, amazing, spectacular, incredible and fantastic. Everyone should read it!
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I still think about this book all the time and love it. Aww,Lenny! This school reminds me of secondary school, especially my GCSEs.
Oh William Shakespeare, we do have a love/heart relationship. I adore analysing your word once I understand it slightly but at first glance you confuse me ever so much. I studied Romeo and Juliet for my GCSE like ‘Of Mice and Men’ and LOVED IT!
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. The epitome of my adolescence!! This book really did help me, especially in realising that being an introvert was okay.
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I really want to read these again.
The Fault in our Stars- this book should also be recommended to children at school because it opens your mind to the reality of people being ill. What I really appreciated about this book is that is shows that life is not all about happy endings and rainbows, sometimes life can suck…but you survive.
Oh my goodness, what brilliant choices (especially The Book Thief, Matilda and A Little Princess!) Hey, did you know that next Saturday when I turn 16, Roald Dahl would have been 100?!
