I have some book confessions for y’all and I hope you can share yours with me. Yay lets get to know each other.

- I do judge a book by its cover. SORRY. I just appreciate a really nice cover and my eyes are drawn to them in shops etc. That being said, if I know what a book is about and I am well informed, I don’t mind what the cover looks like. I will give any book a chance but ascetically speaking, I judge book covers.
- I HATE when characters have stupid names in book or names that are hard to pronounce. When this happens…I either ignore the names while reading completely or the name pronunciation changes constantly.
- Sometimes I am awful at finishing series. I know I KNOW, I am sorry. I have the best intention…and I want to finish the series but sometimes life gets in the way and time flies past, thus resulting in me not reading them.
- I become attached to characters very quickly, especially if they are relatable.
- I sometimes talk to my books in act of desperation for answers. WHHHYYYY….WHYYY would an author write such a heartbreaking narrative.
- I have a very active face when I read, if you see me reading youll be able to know if I am enjoying it or not.

I can relate to several of them and even probably even suffer from them.
Here’s some of my weirdnesses: I notice patterns from one book to the next (similar/same names for characters, etc.) and I also look for what I call What the Tuck trends. So named for the propensity to have the author have a character tuck hair behind the ear. There are others that I have noticed and I now look for them as I read.

I think people who claim to NOT judge a book by its cover, at least a little bit, are lying to themselves. Also, I talk to my books too, but usually only when they are stupid and making me mad.

Anyone who claims they never judge a book by its cover is a lying liar. A good cover will make me buy a book 80% of the time, a bad cover will keep me away!

100% that’s why marketing people spend so long trying to get a captivating cover. π I love pretty spines as well π

I’m with you on the names… I tend to skip over them, which is why I’m pretty sure I only ever read about 10% of The Hunger Games ππ

I certainly see myself in number 3. Life does get in the way of my best intentions. Glad I’m not entirely alone. π
