A little obsessed?

tenor

One of my obsession and has been for many years now is Harry Potter. In my defence who isn’t obsessed with Harry Potter? 🤔😏 When I was little (I can’t write that anymore without thinking of Louisa Clarke from Me Before You‘) I had Harry Potter everythannngg- bike, cloack, Nimbus 2000, figurines, towels….you name it, I had it. Evidently my Harry Potter transport was on point haha…

But you know, as I got older the merch started going to car boot sales and charity shops.. *Why mum…why???*  In hindsight I should have kept it all but I didn’t.

Harry_gets_his_wand

But let’s not let that get us down because recently my sister went to Florida and got me a wand. Harry’s wand in particular…yaaaaaayyy! When I visit I am going to buy another one or two – cough cough- probabally all of them because I have no self control.

Behold – Harry’s wand. Am I the chosen one now because I feel like it?

  • Do you love Harry Potter? Is so, why?
  • Which house are you in?
  • Who’s your favourite character?

TOP TEN TUESDAY

I try to do these weekly but I have failed for a long time now haha. Forgive me? This is a weekly challenge hosted by the broke and the bookish. I saw this weeks on Coffeeloving Bookoholic  and the books she picked and some of my all time favourites- so I feel like I HAVE to do it.

TOP TEN BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS IF YOU WANT TO GET INTO CLASSICS.

I absolutely love classics I do…good thing I studies an English Literature undergraduate course.

  1. My all time favourite book is – On the Road by Jack Kerouac.  It both breaks my heart and baffles me when I see people giving it like one star. WHYYYY? I initially read this book in anticipation for the 2012 movie starring Kristen Stewart (one of my all time favourite actresses) but I am so glad I read it then because it still stays with me now. qqq.gif
  2. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald. I first read this years ago and then I had to study it for first year at University and I fell in love with it deeper. 7.gif
  3. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. I love love love Dickens. 0.gif
  4. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. http---mashable.com-wp-content-gallery-classics-you-should-read-tumblr_lx025fwjgg1r6gxmgo1_r1_500.gif
  5.  Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. 11.gif
  6. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontetumblr_oieqvj0OWL1u76npoo1_500.gif
  7. Lord of the Flies by William Golding. 8888.gif
  8. A Clockwork Orange  by Anthony Burgess88.gif
  9. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.11305782.gif
  10. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. tumblr_m8zurxPuec1qbuwpuo1_r1_500.gif blog-dividers     Have you read any of these?

Which classics do you love?

What I’m currently reading…

Last time I did this post I was reading Louis Pentlands book Wilde Like Me, which I will review soon.

Now I am reading This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp. I was sent this in ARC form months and months ago but life has been super busy so I borrowed the physical copy and now I’m devouring it.

  1. The cover for this book gives me life!
  2. I’ve heard sooo many good things about it.
  3. I’m nearly half way and I’m hooked.
  4. The switching of perspectives makes the pace fast, which makes my adenraline pump with anticipation.

Everyone has a reason to fear the boy with the gun.

Blurb-

10:00 a.m. The principal of Opportunity, Alabama’s high school finishes her speech, welcoming the entire student body to a new semester and encouraging them to excel and achieve.

10:02 a.m.The students get up to leave the auditorium for their next class.

 10:03.The auditorium doors won’t open.

10:05. Someone starts shooting.Told from four perspectives over the span of 54 harrowing minutes, terror reigns as one student’s calculated revenge turns into the ultimate game of survival.Winter ‘

2017 reading…

girl-reading-book-animation-21.gif

So, I thought I would update you guys on what I have read in 2017 so far. I haven’t read as much as I wanted so far because I have been busy working on my dissertation.

I am doing my dissertation on the representation of trauma within Gillian Flynn’s novels, so I have been reading a lot about crime fiction. Oh yeah…that means I get to write 10,000 words on my love for Gillian Flynn and look at her novels: Sharp Objects, Dark Places and Gone Girl.
